Established in 1983.
Norm's Hangar opened its doors on April 1, 1983, by owners Norm and Peggy Nissen who were residents of La Verne since 1967. My brother Johnny and I helped operate Norm's Hangar and brother Kenny managed one of the other family-owned restaurants at Mountain Meadows Golf Coarse. Kenny later opened "Uncle Kenny's" restaurant at Lake Havasu in Arizona. Johnny met an untimely death on New Year's Eve in 1993. I bought the restaurant from Dad in 2006 after Mom passed away, but we still follow the same recipes handed down by my father 29 years ago. Norm's Hangar has always been a family-run business. Sister Sue and her daughter, Kim, worked here for a couple of years and my son, Aaron, manages the kitchen. You may see my daughter, Emily, waiting tables and my little red-headed granddaughter, Raleigh, cleaning tables. Only my son, Andy, has escaped this way of life - he joined the Navy. I hope you enjoy your experience here at Norm's Hangar and please come back again. - Ka
